"You've always had the power my dear, you just had to learn it yourself."

GLINDA the good witch, wizard of oz

The challenges of life can be overwhelming, feeling pulled in many different directions by the roles, responsibilities, expectations, needs, and desires that you are trying to fulfill. You may notice increased feelings of anxiety, sadness, anger, loneliness or irritability, as you try to manage the internal struggle between being yourself and connecting with others. Over time you feel more lost. “If I am myself, if I say what is on my mind, if I do what is best for me, will they still like me? Will they accept me or will they leave me?” Feelings of anxiety and fear bubble to the surface — being yourself and asking for what you need feels paralyzing. This is a common experience and Yellow Brick Road Psychological can support you in feeling more connected, content and whole.

Yellow Brick Road Psychological is inspired by one of my favourite movies as a child, The Wizard of Oz. In the movie, Dorothy follows the yellow brick road to get to Oz, so that she can get the answers she is searching for from the Wizard. However, upon meeting the Wizard she realizes that the answers she was searching for were within her all along. I hope to support you, by connecting you with your truest, wisest, most authentic self. As your therapist, my role is to walk alongside you on the journey of your own yellow brick road to support you in returning to yourself. I strive to create a strong therapeutic connection, in which you can work through challenging emotions and heal the relationship with yourself and others. I look forward to being able to support you and am honoured by the opportunity to work with you.

About Me

I was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta and have always been fascinated by humankind and connection. I attended the University of Alberta, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology. My professional experiences allowed me to work in various disciplines, including the legal system and with organizations that provided support and advocacy to vulnerable and marginalized populations. These experiences and my passion for helping others propelled me to further my education, receiving my Masters of Counselling from City University of Seattle.
